Juneteenth is all about black liberation but with the uproar of #Voguechallenges and "Here's our list of black businesses to support" messages from non Black/POC companies it reminded me of the times as a small business owner I didn't feel so liberated. I've pandered to white markets and stores as a potential jewelry vendor in hopes that they would "pick" my brand. I wanted to change that narrative. Juneteenth has restored my doubt and inspired me to host a LIVE AUCTION featuring 2322 pieces from past collections including everyday wears and avant garde statements. I believe in small business and entrepreneurship and want to use it as a tool of advocacy. Which is why ALL of the proceeds from sales will be donated. 

As a small business i've learned how important great customer service impacts your bottom line and retains your customer. Proceeds of the auction will be donated to a wonderful grant opportunity my best friend has created for small businesses where she will grant small black owned businesses FREE customer service consultant services. The other portion of the funds will be donated to a cause I strongly believe in which is reallocating police funds (also known as defund the police). ACLU works directly with crime interventionist to deescalate and often prevent violence. Which lessens the need for police.

“Where is the Circus”

This fall I was able to get back to a place of travel. If you know me you know that travel is huge part of my creative inspiration, from music to design and honestly at times to keep going. My latest excursion led me to Mexico City, MX where I was able to dive into the world of one of my idols, Frida Kahlo. In true form I was enamored by her free spirit, fearlessness and love of color. Mexico city in itself is one of the most vibrant places I've ever visited.

The Inspiration 

Just as much as I was over the moon about Kahlo so were kids of the city when she would pass. Because of her unapologetic style and vibrant freedom of expression they would often ask her"Where is the Circus?" The moment I read this statement in Frida & Diego's house right near garments she used to wear I knew I had all I needed to dive into a new collection of Jewelry. This Fall 18’ collection plays with some traditional statements of 2322 but in more modern forms. I also experimented with dimensions a bit and much like Frida and exploring Mexico city, nuances & more designs will continue to be added to the collection as the season moves forward. 2322'S SS17 COLLECTION 'Girl on the go'

Spring is in gear and that means it's time for another collection from 2322. Inspired by the experiences of  Amber's recent travels to south east Asia to perform in her first festival of the season (Paradise Island Festival) she's excited to share "Girl on the Go" the SS17' collection of ready to wear accessories. Keeping with her tradition of bright colors for the spring & summer she's been experimenting with new materials including silk and yarn. 'Girl on the Go' is light and fun! When you're busy, running errands, taking a meeting or traveling they're great pieces that bring a little pop to your day.  On June 17th come and enjoy new pieces from the collection at her pop up shop in Washington DC. Les Marais: A winter collection from 2322

Les Marais' is the winter 17' collection of chokers inspired by Amber's travels to Europe during her fall 16' tour of her latest music project THREE ep. On her first stop of the tour she performed in London and then traveled to Paris, France and stayed in the bustling artistic neighborhood 'Les Marais'. Everything about the area was full of life but the clear esthetic for linear movement, the combining of fine textures and distinct choice in color and shade was very prominent and stuck with Mimz as she returned home to the states.

Staying true to the culture of 2322 and love of organic, recycled and repurposed materials these handmade chokers are constructed using various hides of one hundred percent leather from calf to lambskin. Cut with precision from "30-40" inches in length perfect for doubling around the neck for all sizes. Adorned with Rabbit fur and combined with cork, she is sticking to her conversationalist roots! Weather for yourself or as a gift you're sure to be the talk at your next holiday party.
